Survitec displayed their F-35 Pilot Flight Equipment ensemble at Lockheed Martin’s Cockpit Demonstrator event at the Institute of Engineering & Technology, London 15-17 January. On the Survitec stand was the F-35 PFE and Single Seater Life Raft which was well received by visitors. The event was held to showcase the depth of UK industries contribution to the F35 Lighting II aircraft. Members of UK Parliament & the House of Lords visited as did senior representative from UK Ministry of Defence. Key focus; highlighting UK companies supplying the F35 program and the income this generates for the UK.

Survitec’s F-35 Contract Manager, Chris Pugh-Bevan explained that “Every F35 pilot wears pilot flight equipment supplied by a UK company”. As prime contractor for all below the neck F-35 pilot flight equipment, Survitec is contracted to supply equipment to all partner nations. Survitec have led the way with innovative contract solutions and introduced the first Performance Based Logistics program for this type of equipment in September 2017. Survitec’s “Perfect Fit” has reduced timescale to supply of pilot flight equipment to the pilots entering training from “weeks to days”.

To date Survitec has “kitted and fitted” over 600 F-35 pilots from Lockheed Martin US based Pilot Fit Facilities, and planning is well advanced for an additional PFF at Marham UK.
