Developed for use by clearance divers involved in covert operations, the Naval Divers Life Preserver comprises an unobtrusive inflatable stole, with snag-free contours and a fully adjustable webbing waist-belt. The stole is manufactured from durable butyl-proofed nylon fabric, assembled by means of adhesive, which has an immense resistance to abrasion, tearing and puncture. When fully inflated, it provides around 120 newtons of buoyancy. An efficient gas relief valve is fitted as standard. A hinged fabric flap, held closed by a press fastener, can be opened to reveal two large panels of reflective tape designed to aid location in the dark.
A webbing handle, designed to aid the recovery of wearers by support crews, is fitted to the pillow section of the stole. The lifejacket's waist-belt is manufactured from 50mm polyester webbing and is fitted with two adjustment buckles. It takes the form of a continuous loop thus obviating any likelihood of an inadvertent release of the lifejacket during operational use. The lifejacket is manufactured throughout from black materials and components.
