MSC.532(107): Is your firefighting foam concentrate compliant?

Is Your Firefighting Foam Concentrate Compliant

Don't stress - test. Verify compliance with a new testing service available from Survitec

From 1 January 2026, PFOS will be banned in all firefighting foam concentrates under new IMO rules. But with older products, the documentation might not mention PFOS at all, in which case you could be storing non-compliant foam without knowing it.

But what if your foam concentrate was developed before concerns about fluorinated products emerged?

What if you cannot find any mention of PFOS in your product documentation? Or you do not have the product documentation?

Survitec now offers a simple PFOS testing service to help you verify your foam concentrate and avoid costly non-compliance.

Moreover, if your foam concentrate is found to contain PFOS above the prescribed limits, making it subject to the PFOS prohibitions, we can help you identify a suitable, compliant alternative and provide additional supporting services, including foam disposal, system cleaning, and system retrofits if necessary.
