Survitec carried out a full scale tactical medical recovery demonstration at NAVDEX 2017 in Abu Dhabi. As part of the official daily NAVDEX display we presented a number of our military boat capabilities including the DSB 7.8m Semi-Rigid boat, which transported our team close to the incident, and the DSB 380 GPM Inflatable boat, which was deployed from the 7.8m to the beach for the recovery.

Survitec personnel were equipped with full head to toe tactical survival solutions. This included bump helmets from Team Wendy, maritime load carriage from S&S Precision, tactical maritime uniforms from Beyond, the Crewsaver XTP290, an ultra-lightweight, low profile life preserver unit and the new Survitec Med TCCC Pre-Hospital kit.

During the demonstration Survitec utilised the Field Mobility and Field Care TCCC modules.  The team performed the operation, which involved recovering an injured combatant from the beach and transporting them back into the 380 GPM, using the new unique waterproof navy variants of these modules. The waterproof modules, designed specifically for naval operators ensure the integrity of the medic's equipment during a maritime operation. Once the injured party was recovered the 380 GPM boat travelled back to the larger 7.8m boat where the team regrouped and made their escape.

Survitec Med TCCC

Survitec Med TCCC offers the combat medic a suite of innovative medical equipment developed for optimised trauma management on the battlefield. Each module has been designed by Survitec’s specialist team of Special Forces medics and rescue professionals to maximise user interface, speed of care and mobility of equipment.  The Survitec Pre-Hospital medical system delivers modular capabilities for several different trauma scenarios.

DSB 7.8m Rigid Inflatable Boat

Manufactured from hypalon coated fabrics, the hull itself is a concealed chamber, strong enough to accommodate a variety of payloads. It offers full navigational performance combined with strength and proven stability.  Survitec offer the seven chamber system, air filled or with foam fender tubes. The boat features hull integrated fixation and lifting points for quick and safe deployment.  Single point lifting versions are available, as are quick inflation systems in combination with protection of overpressure of fender tubes.  The 7.8m SR has multiple reinforcements and sufficient protection to meet all safety standards.  It can carry a full electronic outfit with options including radar, thermal imaging, GPS, echo sounder and VHF. The boat size presented is available in outboard and inboard engines versions and both jet and propeller drive options available with the inboard engine combination. The modular outfit concept and quick exchange of outfit modules, allows easy adjustment to different operational roles, and Survitec offer fully customisable design options as well.

380 GPM Inflatable Boat

The 380 GPM Inflatable Boat is a compact, six passenger boat designed to optimise covert operations such as beaching. The 380 GPM is part of the Survitec fully inflatable boat range with cost effective modular outfits to meet different operational requirements. The boat displayed during the demo is an ultra-lightweight option with air deck and quick inflation systems, and combines operator-friendly, advanced performance with quick service capabilities.  The inflatable range starts at 2 person boats up to sizes beyond 6m. The boat can also be propelled as shown during the display, by a lightweight “whisper engine” lithium ionic battery pack on board ensuring its crew go undetected during infiltration.
