A win for gender equality

Model.Name

Supporting passengers to over 250 locations means they need a solution they can rely on. But can safety be a one-size-fits-all solution? For the 1000S passenger immersion suit, we knew we needed change following our partnership project with Shell.

The project, initiated by Shell's colleague survey, revealed significant numbers of male and female crew had to change immersion suits multiple times before flight, resulting in passengers fearing that they would cause flight delays and embarrassment. It followed anecdotal comments about the fit of immersion suits and what this meant in practice for women in a male-dominated and male-created environment.

The challenge was to address the issue of immersion suits fit all genders and body types. We responded by adjusting the immersion suit rental fleet, increasing the size variations available by 30%, and helping to achieve a much safer and more comfortable fit for all passengers.

The initiative underscores the importance of tailored safety solutions in diverse environments.
