On June 3rd, Lockheed Martin announced that the F-35 fleet had achieved over 200,000 flight hours across global operations. In the same week, the F-35 Joint Program Office and Lockheed Martin delivered the 400th production of the aircraft.

Survitec is proud to play a significant role in the F-35 program as the designer, qualifier and manufacturer of all below the neck pilot flight equipment (PFE). Survitec fit every F-35 pilot with their 5th generation PFE, designed to simultaneously optimize pilot stamina, strength and cognitive decision making while flying and maximise protection against all potential hazards during ejection, sea survival and potential SERE manoeuvres.

The aptly titled ‘Perfect Fit’ Program takes 3-4 days and just 18 specific anthropometrics to give a completely tailored F-35 ensemble to the pilot. Survitec understands that precision is key when it comes to appropriately fitted garments as the slightest measurement makes all the difference during the unexpected. The full F-35 ensemble is completely made to order and includes the fundamental experience of ensuring the pilot is appropriately integrated, comfortable and fully satisfied with their PFE in use with the aircraft ejection seat and helmet.

On July 3rd, Survitec expertly fitted their 1,000th F-35 pilot at Luke Air Force Base. Survitec operates 4 PFF’s in the United States with several others scheduled to open in other F-35 operational countries by 2020.  Graham Robertson, F-35 Program Manager stated, “The F-35 program has made substantial history this past month and the Perfect Fit Team is proud to be a part of it all. Every day, the PFF team takes the most important measurements of a pilot’s career to ensure that they’re protected to the highest of standards
