The Survival Equipment Training Manager, POA(SE) I D R Harris of the UK Royal Navy Royal RNAS Yeovilton branch, has asked Survitec if they could re-name their ‘Highest Level of Proficiency’ award under the new name, ‘The Survitec Award for Proficiency’. The award will be presented at the course graduation in October to a particular Naval Airman Survival Equipment (NASE) course attendee. The course itself is 54 weeks in duration and covers various aspects of engineering maintenance in addition to the mandatory SERE training. A representative of Survitec will be presenting the award to the successful graduate who has shown their hard work and dedication to the industry.  There are two graduation ceremonies held each year at RNAS Yeovilton and will be represented by a member of Survitec each time to present the award.

Survitec has worked closely with the UK MOD since the 1930’s when the first inflatable life raft was introduced into service during The Second World War. Subsequently, there have been countless collaborations ranging from the Mae West life preserver in 1940, to the world’s first Fast Jet Anti-G Trousers in 1950 and most recently, the new MK42/43 life preservers due to be launched in late 2017.
