Phil Swash Chairman

Phil has over 25 years’ experience in global senior leadership, transformation and P&L roles, with expertise in aerostructures, automotive, off-highway, global industrial operations, and lean and digital manufacturing.

Earlier in his career, Phil led the manufacturing launch of the largest commercial aircraft wings then produced and was ultimately responsible for all Airbus Wing manufacturing. He also led the deployment of lean manufacturing across Airbus’ European operations. Phil then joined GKN where he held various chief executive and board positions.

As CEO of GKN’s largest division, Phil had full autonomy and P&L responsibility for the £5.4bn global business. He led a global re-structuring of the business and successfully re-shaped and re-focused product research & development which led to the company capturing over 40% market share, in a hugely competitive space. As a GKN Board Director, Phil played a crucial role during the Melrose take-over and, crucially, the subsequent value enhancement which was secured for GKN shareholders.

Robert Kledal Chief Executive Officer

Robert was appointed CEO in 2022. He has over 30 years' experience in high profile roles on a global scale, including CEO at Wrist Ship Supply for over nine years and several senior positions at Moeller-Maersk Group.

In both roles, Robert's priorities were strong leadership, company culture, and business model innovation, resulting in exponential business results. Robert has also served his country in the Army as a Sergeant.

He's achieved several business and digital strategy qualifications via the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Copenhagen Business School and others.

In addition to his role as CEO of Survitec, Robert is also on the Board of Directors at Wrist Ship Supply and Blue Water Shipping. Read more

Claire Tobijanski Group HR Director

Claire joined Survitec in July 2013. She leads the Group HR function across all of Survitec’s geographies, responsible for setting and executing the organisation’s global people strategy. Her remit includes organisational design & transformation, compensation & benefits, organisational development, communications & engagement and HRIS strategy. With over 16 years’ experience across diverse industries, including FMCG, Manufacturing and Distribution, Claire is a strategic & operational HR executive with significant experience in business and HR transformation. She holds deep expertise in all aspects of HR, including talent, organisational capability & design and strategy. She has successfully led Survitec through a major HR modernisation programme and was responsible for implementing the organisation’s Global HR system, a key enabler for the business transformation programme and people agenda.

Claire has a post graduate qualification in HR with the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD).

Viven Moodley Managing Director, Service Operations

Viven joined Survitec through the acquisition of Wilhelmsen Ships Services (WSS). He joined WSS in 2005 through the acquisition of Unitor Ships Service. He joined Unitor Ship Services in 1998 as a Safety Service Manager.

Over the years, Viven has progressed through the ranks and held several roles at Survitec and the previously acquired businesses. Based out of the Survitec Singapore office, he now leads Global Service Operations for Survitec.

Julian Henley-Price Group General Counsel

Julian was appointed Group General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Survitec in November 2019. In addition to in-house skills, he has considerable international experience and has handled a wide range of legal and business situations in a variety of industries. Following qualification as a barrister in 1994, Julian held in-house positions at Rhône-Poulenc, British American Tobacco, GE and Baltimore Technologies. Prior to joining Survitec, he was the General Counsel and Company Secretary of London Stock Exchange listed Thalassa Holdings, a diversified holding company.

Julian holds law degrees from King’s College London and Université de Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as an MBA from London Business School.

Debbie Wilson Chief Information Officer

Debbie joined Survitec as Chief Information Officer in February 2021. Debbie is responsible for driving Survitec’s digital transformation journey. She is a global digital and business change leader with 30 years’ experience working for global organisations to develop their digital strategies. Debbie is a dynamic leader and mentors many women in leadership positions. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion (D&I) and has led several D&I councils, where she’s helped raise the recruitment and retention statistics of women within the IT and engineering discipline.

Before her role at Survitec, Debbie held senior positions at Rio Tinto, ADT, Tyco, Sensormatic, and Unilever. She also spent two years building her own company “DigiDebb”. Debbie received her Business Technology degree from Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and more recently, certifications in Digital Strategy and Technologies from MIT and Columbia Business School.

Louise McClelland Group Director of Finance

Louise joined Survitec as Group Finance Director in March 2020. In January 2021, she joined the Survitec Executive team to lead the group finance function.

Louise is a senior finance leader with two decades of experience across privately and PE-owned Group companies. She is experienced in leading large-scale business transformations.

She has a Higher National Diploma in Business & Finance and is ACCA, and PRINCE2 certified.

Martin Whittaker CEO Aerospace & Defence

Martin joined Survitec in early 2019 initially as Managing Director and became the CEO of the Survitec Aerospace and Defence business in November 2019.

Martin is a qualified engineer with over 40 years’ in the Aerospace and Defence industry, and has extensive experience leading significant businesses globally in both public and private equity environments.  He is experienced in working in safety critical, heavily governed, asset heavy environments, with a demonstrable track record of operational and financial improvement.

Mark Clegg Managing Director, Fire Solutions

Mark joined Survitec in May 2020 as Managing Director for Survitec Fire Systems, which includes the Maritime Protection brand. Since then, his role has expanded, and he now manages global operations for the Survitec Fire Solutions business.

He has over 45 years’ industry experience and a proven track record creating sustainable shareholder value through direct operations and integration of industrial services to the oil & gas, marine, power generation and construction industry.

Before his role in Survitec, Mark worked for Tyco International for 34 years latterly as Managing Director, EMEA Fire & Security. He was also Interim Director of Billfinger Salamis and Managing Director for ATG Access.

As a leader at Survitec, Mark promotes a diverse and open environment.

Terje Gorm Hansen Managing Director, Wearables and Leisure

Terje joined Survitec in May 2021 through the acquisition of Hansen Protection. Terje became CEO of Hansen Protection in 1995, having started his career as a Sales Representative for the Helly Hansen Group in 1980, which Hansen Protection were apart of at the time.

Terje is now Managing Director of the Survitec Wearables and Leisure business. He is responsible for the Hansen Protection, Crewsaver and Lyngsøe brands and the offshore personal protection rental solution.

Claude Sada Managing Director, Survival Craft

Claude was appointed Survitec Marine Chief Operating Officer in April 2019. He is now Managing Director for the Survitec Survival Craft business and leads the Survitec Marine supply chain.

Before his role at Survitec, Claude held leadership positions within significant organisations, including Eaton Corporation, Hertz Rent a Car, Meadwestvaco (Now Westrock) and Berendsen Plc.

Claude studied at the University of Geneva, where he received a Master’s degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management.

Mark Cotton Global Marine Sales Director

Mark has been leading the global marine sales function since February 2020 and the marine sales and customer services combined function since January 2022.

Mark has over 18 years’ experience as a senior commercial leader. Including 12 years in the automotive industry, four years consulting and two in private equity.

Having previously worked as VP Sales Operations at V. Group, Mark has a deep understanding of the Survitec customers’ wants and needs, which he uses to leverage digital innovations that solve business challenges.  

Mark has a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of Bath.
