Safety solutions provider Survitec has affirmed its status in the wind energy market, securing a significant order for its Gen 2 Wind Tri Approved Suit.  The suit will be used for all helicopter transfers by Ørsted, the global leader in offshore wind, during the construction of Hornsea Project One.

Specifically made for the renewable energy market and designed to exceed the latest European aviation and marine standards, the Gen 2 Tri Approved Suit is fully waterproof, breathable, flame retardant and provides maximum functionality to the wearer. Approved to both the Marine Equipment Directive and European Transmission System Operators (MED / ETSO) standard and the Personal Protective Equipment (CE-PPE) standard, a single suit is capable of supporting aviation transit, constant wear work and marine transit.

Ross Johnston, Global Key Account Manager at Survitec, said: “In addition to a long and proud history in the oil and gas industry, Survitec has recently developed an array of products that have been specifically designed for the renewable energy sector. It is an honour, and ringing endorsement, to have been selected by the world’s largest offshore wind farm developer, Ørsted, to support the significant Hornsea Project One.

When operational in 2020, the wind farm will produce enough power for over one million homes and we are proud to assure Ørsted that all workers on Hornsea Project One will be protected by the very latest in safety technology.”
